Description
Each 1 ml contains :
Oxytetracycline (As Dihydrate) 200 mg
Indicated in the treatment and control of a wide range of diseases in cattle , sheep and goats :
Cattle : for the treatment and control of pasteurellosis and pneumonia caused by Oxytetracycline- sensitive organisms , may also be of value for the treatment of foul in the foot .
Sheep and Goat : for the control of enzootic abortion and pneumonia caused by Oxytetracycline- sensitive organisms .
Aid in the treatment of infectious ovine keratoconjunctivitis ( pinky-eye ) and in lambs , of tick –borne fever . May also be of value in the treatment of tick – pyaemia in lambs .
Administered by deep intramuscular injection at the rate of 1 ml per 10 kg bodyweight , which is equivalent to 20 mg Oxytetracycline per kg .
It is recommended that the following amounts of Oxytetravet 20% LA Inj at one site should not be exceeded :
Cattle: 10 ml .
Sheep and Goat : 5 ml.
Effective blood levels are maintained for up to 72 hours in cattle and 48 hours in sheep . Because of the sustained blood levels attained at the above dosage rates with oxytetravet 20% LA Inj , one treatment is usually sufficient.
– Not to be injected subcutaneously .
– Not for use in ewes producing milk for human consumption.
– Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient.
– Not recommended to use in horses, cats and dogs.
–Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment .
–Animals may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 21 days from the last treatment.
-Milk for human consumption must not be taken during treatment .
-Milk from treated cows may be taken for human consumption only after 7 days( at the 15th milking in animals milked twice daily ) from the last treatment .
Store in a dry and dark place at a temperature below 30 ˚C.
