These deficiencies might be caused by many reasons, such as anorexia, lactation, stress, or overexertion.
Butaphosphan is an organic phosphorus compound. The major indications are disorder of the metabolism that result from poor nutrition, inadequate management or disease (e.g. developmental and nutritional disorders in young animals due to rearing disease, and (secondary) ketosis in cows) and to support the treatment of infertility, tetanus and paresis. Butaphosphan is quickly absorbed at the injection site and it is distributed quickly after intramuscular or subcutaneous administration. It is distributed rapidly to tissues with high metabolic activity like the liver, kidneys, and muscles. It is metabolized by the liver and it participates in various metabolic processes like synthesis and degradation of amino acids. It is excreted through kidneys in urine and the elimination half-life is relatively short.
Vitamin B12 influences protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism and promotes formation of red blood cells. Vitamin B12 is also rapidly absorbed at the injection site through the bloodstream. It binds to plasma proteins and is transported to tissues. The liver serves as a storage site for this vitamin. This vitamin is also distributed to other tissues like the bone marrow. It acts as a coenzyme in various metabolic pathways and is involved in DNA synthesis and red blood cell production. This vitamin is excreted through bile, and is reabsorbed in the enterohepatic circulation. The excess of this vitamin is excreted in the urine, and it has a longer half-life compared to Butaphosphan due to its storage in the liver and its role in long-term metabolic functions.
