- Injectable Solution of Lincomycin and Spectinomycin Combination for Non-Ruminating Calves, Sheep, and Goats.
- Very wide range antibiotic active against Gram positive, Gram negative and Mycoplasma spp. infections.
- Treatment of respiratory infections, intestinal infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections (including wounds and abscess) and arthritis caused by organisms sensitive to lincomycin and / or spectinomycin.
- Treatment of mastitis and metritis in sheep and goats. Metritis is a common polymicrobial disease, especially within the first 2 weeks after parturition.
- Treatment bacteremia and septicemia in calves, lambs and kids associated with to E.coli infection.
Description
Each 1 ml contains:
Lincomycin (as Lincomycin Hydrochloride Monohydrate) 50 mg
Spectinomycin (as Spectinomycin Sulfate tetrahydrate) 100 mg
Spectovet Inj. is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by organisms sensitive to the action of Lincomycin and/ or Spectinomycin including:
Actinobacillus spp. , Pasteurella spp. , Escherichia coli , Salmonella spp. , Campylobacter spp. , Bacteroides spp. , Clostridium spp. , Fusobacterium spp. , Actinomyces spp. , Streptococcus spp. , Mycoplasma spp., Staphylococcus and Treponema spp. , and infections as Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD), respiratory infections, air-sac disease, infections of skin- and adjoining tissues, enteritis, dysentery, foot rot in non-ruminating Calves, Sheep, Goats, Poultry (broilers), Dogs and Cats .
For intramuscular injection.
Non-ruminating calves: 15 mg of the active ingredients per kg bodyweight (1 ml/ 10 kg bodyweight) intramuscularly twice daily for the first day followed by once daily for 2 – 4 days according to clinical response.
Sheep and Goats: 15 mg of the active ingredients per kg bodyweight (1 ml per 10 kg bodyweight) for 3 days.
Poultry (broilers): 30 mg of the active ingredients per kg bodyweight (0.5 ml per 2.5 kg bodyweight) daily during 3 days.
Dogs and Cats: 30 mg of the active ingredients per kg bodyweight (1 ml/5 kg bodyweight) intramuscularly. May be repeated at 12 to 24 hour intervals for 3 -7 days according to clinical response.
-Do not use in animals previously found to be hypersensitive to either active ingredient.
-Do not administer to animals with an impaired renal and/or hepatic function.
-Concurrent administration of penicillins, cephalosporins, quinolones and cycloserine.
-Non-ruminating calves (Meat and offal): 21 days.
-Sheep and Goats (Meat): 14 days.
-Poultry (Meat): 7 days.
-Store in a dark and dry place at a temperature below 30oC.
-Shelf life after first opening of the container: 28 days.
