Description
Each 1 ml contains :
Doxycycline ( as Doxycycline hyclate ) 100 mg
Chickens (Broilers) : Treatment of Colibacillosis , Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) and Mycoplasmosis caused by microorganisms sensitive to Doxycycline .
Chickens (Broilers) .
To be administered orally in drinking water .
Chickens (broilers) : 10 mg Doxycycline hyclate / kg bodyweight / day , corresponding to mg CycloDox 10/ kg bodyweight , for 3-5 consecutive days .
Based on the recommended dose, and the number and weight of the birds to be treated , the exact daily amount of CycloDox 10 should be calculated according to the following formula :
0.1 ml CycloDox 10 / kg bodyweight / day × Mean bodyweight (kg) of birds to be treated = ml CycloDox 10 /L drinking water
Mean daily water consumption (l) / bird
It is recommended to prepare a concentrated pre-solution – approximately 100 gram
product per liter drinking water – and to dilute this further to therapeutic concentrations if required . Alternatively, the concentrated solution can be used in a proportional water medicator.
The medicated water will be the only drinking water available to the animals during treatment.
The medicated water should be made freshly every day .
–Do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to the active substances , or to any of the excipients .
-Do not use in animals with hepatic dysfunction
-Do not administer together with antacids, kaolin and iron preparations.-
-A high resistance rate of E. coli, isolated from chickens, against Tetracyclines has been documented. Therefore product should be used for the treatment of infections caused by E. coli only after susceptibility testing has been carried out.
-Avoid administration in oxidized troughs.
-The absorption of Doxycycline can be decreased in the presence of high quantities of Calcium, Iron, Magnesium or Aluminium in the diet.
-Allergic and photosensitivity reactions can occur. Intestinal flora may be affected if treatment is very prolonged, and this may result in digestive disturbance.
-Rarely crystalluria may occur in young birds (seven days old chicks) when the product is administered in water at the doses recommended. This may occur at times when the ambient temperature is higher than normal, when consumptive of medicated water is increased
Chickens (Broilers):
Meat and offal : 7 days
Do not use in layers producing eggs for human consumption.
store at a temperature below 30 ˚C.
