Imicarb is a potent antiprotozoal medication, belonging to the carbanilide derivative class. Description

Each 1 ml contains:

Imidocarb dipropionate   120 mg

For the treatment and prevention of bovine babesiosis (Redwater fever – Babesia divergens infection) in cattle, and for the treatment of dogs with clinical signs of babesiosis and/or demonstrated Babesia organisms in the blood, and for the treatment of babesiosis and anaplasmosis in horses and sheep.

Administered by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection.

 

Cattle:

Treatment: 1.0 ml / 100 kg bodyweight.

Prevention (for therapy of in-contact animals known to be exposed to an infection): 2.5 ml / 100 kg bodyweight.

 

–  By subcutaneous injection only, administered on a single occasion only.

–  Do not administer by the intramuscular or intravenous route.

–  Do not inject more than 10 ml per injection site.

 

Sheep: 1 ml / 100 kg bodyweight by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection.

Horses: 2 ml / 100 kg bodyweight by intramuscular injection, repeat after 24 hours.

Dogs: 0.55 ml / 10 kg bodyweight by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection, repeat the dose in two weeks.

Do not use this product simultaneously with exposure to cholinesterase-inhibiting drugs, pesticides, or chemicals.

–    Cattles should not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment and within 213 days from the last treatment.

–    Cattles milk should not be used for human consumption during treatment and within 21 days from the last treatment.

–    Sheep should not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment and within 28 days from the last treatment.

–    Sheep milk should not be used for human consumption during treatment and within 3 days from the last treatment.

Store in a dark and dry place at a temperature below 30oC.
