Sulphaprim-D
Sulphaprim-D Injection combines Sulphadimidine-Na (200 mg/ml) and Trimethoprim (40 mg/ml) for potent, synergistic antibacterial action, effectively inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis. It targets a broad range of infections in livestock, including respiratory diseases (pneumonia, bronchitis), urogenital and gastrointestinal infections, mastitis, foot rot, septicemia, and wound or post-parturient infections.
Description
Each 1 ml contains:
Sulphadimidine-Na 200 mg
Trimethoprim 40 mg
Sulphaprim-D Inj. is indicated in the systemic treatment for a range of bacterial infections caused by bacterial sensitive to Sulphadimidine+Trimethoprim of the respiratory tract (pneumonia, bronchitis), urogenital tract, and gastrointestinal tract. Secondary bacterial infections following viral diseases. Mastitis, foot rot (cattle) and Septicemia in all species. Wound and post-parturient infections.
Horses: 10 ml per 200 kg bodyweight daily by intravenous (IV) injection only.
Cattle and Sheep: 1 ml per 10 – 15 kg bodyweight daily by intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injection.
Dogs: 1 ml per 8 kg bodyweight daily by intramuscular (IM) injection.
Cats: 0.5 ml by intramuscular (IM) injection daily.
-In severe cases dosage should be repeated for 1 – 4 days.
-Transitory pain may be experienced following large volume injection. Doses of more than 10 ml by intramuscular injection (IM) should be injected at separate sites.
-Injections should not be given by routes other than recommended.
-Do not administer to horses exhibiting drug-induced cardiac arrhythmias.
-Do not administer to animals with known sulfonamide sensitivity, liver parenchymal damage or blood dyscrasia.
-Cattle and sheep shouldn’t be slaughtered for human consumption within 15 days from the last treatment.
-Milk from treated cattle and sheep shouldn’t be used during treatment and within 72 hours from the last treatment.
Store in a dark and dry place at a temperature below 30oC.
